sure you don't overlook the Nursing Sensitive quality indicators of healthcare. Patient well-being
contributes to quality assessment, and as a nurse, you need to understand and fully consider patient
safety, satisfaction, and outcomes to achieve expected quality indicators (Connolly, &Wright,
2017).
Collecting and Reporting Quality Indicator Data
The National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI) is a nursing database
launched by the American Nurses Association in 1998, primarily to identify best practices in
nursing, improve the quality of health care, improve patient outcomes, and ensure that teaching
methods meet nursing standards (Sage, & Harris, 2018). In this milieu, the NDNQI objects to
guarantee that nursing staff work and behavior influence the quality of care, including reporting
and monitoring specific indicators. As nurses, we need to know that the NDNQI contains data
from 1,100 U.S. facilities and we are pleased to be part of this elite group. Therefore, it is vitally
important that you do everything in your power to reflect the NDNQI and have a long-term impact
on the organization's reputation. This is primarily because the organization's data, including its
contributions, are assigned to a database (Ju et al, 2018).
